PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorber easy to prepare, able to adsorb hemoglobin selectively and sterilizable by incorporating phenyl group and/or phenol group on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The desired product is a hemoglobin adsorber characterized by possessing phenyl group and/or phenol group on the surface. By packing it into a column and bringing it into contact with a solution containing hemoglobin, hemoglobin is selectively adsorbed and removed. Adsorbers having these groups on the surface of porous substances with large surface area are preferable. As low molecular compounds having phenyl group and/or phenol group to be fixed on the surface of insoluble carrier, tyramine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, aminophenol and mixtures of these compounds are used preferably. As the carrier to fix these low molecular compounds, porous bodies such as porous glass, porous silica and porous alumina are preferable. |
