Cement industry exhaust gas utilisation - has inert gas atmos. in silos etc. after sepg. solids and water vapour

The process utilises exhaust gases from thermal processes, partic. from rotary tubular furnaces and heat-exchangers in the cement industry. The gases are used as a de-activation agent, after separation of solid particles and water vapour as necessary. They can be used alternatively or to supplement the gases from an inert gas generator. The water vapour can be condensed out by cooling, after which the gases are heated and stored after compression. Useful e.g. as an inert gas atmos. in a silo for storing coal dust etc. to eliminate the risk of explosions.
