PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a gas contg. high concn. CO by introducing a by- product gas into a red-hot coke layer in a prechamber to reduce CO2 gas in the by-product gas by contact to the red-hot coke. CONSTITUTION:Red-hot coke of about 1,200 deg.C forced out of a coke oven is conveyed with a conveying vessel (not shown) and charged into chamber 2 from coke inlet 1 of the coke dry cooling equipment. In order to obtain a gas contg. high concn. CO an iron mill by-product gas is introduced into prechamber 2 from duct 12 and contacted to the red-hot coke. CO2 and coexisting water in the by-product gas are reduced by reaction with the coke. The resulting gas of a higher CO concn. is drawn out of prechamber 2 and fed to main duct 14 through breeder 11. Thus, the high concn. CO-contg. gas can be obtd. easily using the energy of red-hot coke. |
