Concrete slab butt joint seal - by plastic filler material in recesses and seal rings

Butt joints between prefabricated concrete slabs with a plastic lining on their surfaces exposed to any corrosive attack are provided at every butt joint immediately adjacent to the plastic lining with a recess. Both recesses are filled out with an plastic material which can be cast or applied by spatula and which adheres well to the plastic slab lining, usually consisting of PVC. An elastic sealing element is compressed enough to create a tight joint with the plastic filler material. This protects the concrete end faces of slabs even when they are slightly offset against each other.
