The silo is intended for holding hygroscopic or heat-sensitive bulk material such as spreadable salt, partic. calcium chloride or calcium-ammonium nitrate. It comprises a round wooden container having an upwards open shell (12), a bottom formed as a converging steep outlet funnel, and a roof (44) supported on the upper rim of the shell. The shell and at least the upper part of the funnel are internally lined with water-impermeable foil (34), which may be folded over the upper shell rim and retained there by a channel-section (38, 40) elastomer strip (36), which, at the same time, acts as seal (42) between the shell and roof.
