Organo:polysiloxane elastomers as prolonged release carriers - for agricultural chemicals, herbicides or biocides

New use of organopolysiloxane elastomers is as carriers for active substances which are solid or liq. at room temp. and which are used (a) in plant raising, (b) for combating undesired small forms of life in water or in admixture with water in industrial plants, or (c) as total herbicides. Typical active ingredients are fertilisers; trace elements; plant growth regulants; selective herbicides; insecticides; fungicides; bactericides; algicides; or total herbicides. Prolonged release formulations that are not subject to undesired migration of active substances, regardless or weather conditions or of the time of day or year. Risk to humans and animals is minimised, and the amount of active substance (and therefore the extent of environmental pollution) is minimised.
