PURPOSE:To provide title compsn. having high initial bond strength, consisting of a specified hydrocarbon resin and a thermoplastic elastomer derived from styrene and isoprene. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic elastomer having an average MW of 25,000-500,000 and a styrene content of 10-70wt% and of formula (S-I)n or (S-I)n-1-S (wherein S is styrene block; I is isoprene block; n is 2-10), is blended with (B) 50-250pts.wt. of a hydrocarbon resin of a softening point of 60- 140 deg.C contg. 30-85wt% of 1,3-pentadiene unit, 4-32wt% of diisobutylene unit, 5- 40wt% of alpha-methylstyrene unit and 0-12wt% of 1,3-butadiene unit in the polymer chain in a weight ratio of the diisobutylene unit to the alpha-methylstyrene unit of 1:4-2:1 resulting from the copolymerization of a monomer mixt. consisting of 30-80wt% of 1,3-pentadiene, 5-40wt% of diisobutylene, 5-40wt% of alpha- methylstyrene and 0-15wt% of 1,3-butadiene in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst. The resulting mixt. is heated at a temp. of 80-300 deg.C. |
