A machine for the continuous manufacture of thermo-insulating tubes from foamed closed cell material comprises a conveyor (6) for conveying a strip (1) of that material through a plurality of treatment stations. At a first or loading station the strip is inserted between guide rollers (3). It then proceeds to a first vertical bending station where it is acted upon by rollers whose axles gradually change from horizontal to vertical (Fig. 1, not shown) and by rollers (8) so as to be folded into a U-shape. Subsequently the folded strip passes to a further station where a roller (9) brings the lips of the strip into close adjacency. Thereafter the strip passes successively through a station which accurately spaces the lips in parallelism by operation of a disc (10) and rollers, a heating and lip fusion station (11) a cooling station (13, 14) and optionally a shape memorization oven (16). <IMAGE> |
