An impression cylinder (1) has a printing blanket (3) secured thereto extending around the surface of the cylinder (1) by more than 360 DEG , preferably by about 720 DEG , and the upper, free end (5) of the printing blanket (3) facing in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation a of the cylinder (1). In the preferred embodiment the printing blanket (3) extends around the surface of the cylinder (1) by slightly less than 720 DEG and a diagonally rising transition section from the inner ply to the outer ply of the printing blanket (3) is formed between the two end faces. A substantially triangular groove is located between the end face of the free end (5) of the printing blanket and the transition section, said groove being filled with a sealant which is slightly elastically deformable. <IMAGE> |
