<p>PURPOSE:To transmit and display a rough picture in a short time by sending or storing an intra-block average value or an inter-block difference value of image data of one-picture components while gradually increasing the number of divisions of a block stepwise. CONSTITUTION:Image data of one-picture components are divided into n blocks of image data, and an average value of image data in each block is calculated and is sent or stored. Each divided block is fractionized into m blocks and the average value of image data in each fractionized block is calculated, and the difference between this average value and the average value of image data before fractionization is calculated and is sent or stored. These calculation and sending or storing of the difference are repeated on demand. That is, the intra-block average value or the inter-block difference value of one-picture components of picture data is sent while increasing the number of divisions of blocks stepwise. Thus, a rough picture consisting of a small number of data is transmitted and displayed in a short time, and quick reference of many pictures corresponding to ruffling in case of a book is possible.</p> |
