According to the invention, plant-growing pots 2 with perforated sides and bottom placed on a tray or plate 1 are filled with the growth medium. The tray carrying the pots is placed in a mould 11 that extends to the bottom of the tray carrying the pots, forms a cover in a closed box 9 and is connected to a suction device 21,22. The box is immersed in a suspension 18 of the growth medium, which is sucked into the pots until they are full of it.
