PURPOSE:To upgrade nondefective rate as well as improve the purity of color by the procedure in which a blue luminous element having a 10% phosphoring time of 1 millisecond or less is first formed and then the remaining two color luminous elements having a 10% phosphoring time is 50 millisecond or less are formed. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of the face panel 1 is provided with the light absorptive matrix 2 and then the light absorptive matrix 2 is coated with a blue color fluorescent slurry obtained by suspending a silver-activated zinc sulfide fluorescent substance of a 10% phosphoring time of 1 millisecond or less in a photoresisto, dried, and exposed to light to form the blue color luminous element B at first. Then, the green color luminous element G is formed by using a P39 fluorescent substance having a 10% phosphoring time of 50 millisecond or more in the same way. Lastly, the red color luminous element R is provided by using a P13 fluorescent substance or a manganese-activated zinc-magnesium orthotriphosphate fluorescent substance, having a 10% phosphoring time of 50 millisecond or more, by the same way. Thus, the luminous area of the blue color luminous element B is reduced to the size 4 as shown in the drawing, so that no luminescence is emitted even if there is an excitation by the electron beam 3, preventing the mixing of colors. |
