Means for connecting track links of a track for a tracked vehicle comprise a pin for mounting in a track link, and a connector having a surface for embracing a peripheral surface of the pin, this peripheral surface of the pin being, viewing the pin in cross-section, of a contour which is stepless and which deviates from a circular shape, and the said surface of the connector being of a counterpart contour in relation to said peripheral surface of the pin. The arrangement enables track links to be connected positively and frictionally whilst obviating susceptibility of the pin to cracking. In the Figure a connector for a track of the double joint-pin kind has an opening 13 the wall of which embraces a pin 1 having a stepless cross-section which deviates from a circular shape and the periphery of which is formed by six circular-arc portions having two different radii 3, 4 the centres B of which are mutually offset by 120 DEG and lie eccentrically with regard to the centroid of the cross- section. The wall of opening 13 is of counterpart cross-section as shown. In another embodiment the connection means is for a track of the single joint-pin kind. Other exemplary pin cross-sections have the shape of an octagon having transitional radii, an ellipse, and a tetragon having transitional radii. <IMAGE> |
