PURPOSE:The first kind of island part with side-by-side structure and the second kind of island part made from one kind of high-molecular substance disperse in the sea part intermittently with tapered ends along the fiber axis to produce title conjugate fiber intermittently developing the continuous changes in chemical and physical properties in the direction of fiber axis. CONSTITUTION:In an island-in-sea type conjugate fiber that is composed of 3 or more different kinds of organic high-molecular substances which have fiber-forming property and different chemical and physical properties from one another, the first kind of islands made of two kinds of organic high-molecular substnaces contacting with each other in side-by-side and the second type of islands made of one kind of organic high-molecular substance disperse intermettely along the fiber axis with tapered ends. When the length of islands is in the range from 5-2,000mm., the resulting conjugate fibers develop melange-tone color shade with relative ease and melange effect is obtained when the length of the area containing only the sea component 6 is in the range from 1-2,000mm.. |
