A method for halting the regeneration of DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) contents in a low battery residue state and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to maintain the call function by automatically stopping the DMB contents regeneration function in case that the residue of a battery drops below an appointed level in the middle of regenerating DMB contents. A mobile terminal to implement a method for halting the regeneration of DMB contents in a low battery residue state comprises an input part(214), a microprocessor(206), a battery(216), and a battery residue detection part(218). If the user of the mobile terminal inputs a battery residue level through the input part(214) in order to automatically stop DMB contents regeneration. The microprocessor(206) memorizes the inputted battery residue level. The battery residue detection part(218) checks the remaining amount of the battery(216) and outputs a signal to the microprocessor(206). The microprocessor(206) compares the present residue of the battery(216), detected by the battery residue detection part(218), with the inputted battery residue level. In case that the present residue of the battery(216) is smaller than or equal to the inputted battery residue level, the microprocessor(206) stops regenerating DMB contents.
