A paper feeder of an image forming apparatus is provided to improve printing medium feeding efficiency by restraining friction between a printing medium and a holder. A paper feeder of an image forming apparatus includes a pickup roller(20), a friction pad(30), a holder(40), and a transfer member(50). The pickup roller picks up printing media(P) from a paper feeding unit in which the printing media are loaded. The friction pad is located opposite to the pickup roller and separates the printing media one by one. The holder holds the friction pad. The transfer member is set at the holder and assists the transfer of the printing media. The paper feeder further includes a housing(21) located at both ends of the pickup roller. The transfer member comes into contact with the housing having a printing medium placed between the transfer member and the housing.
