REPRODUCTION DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND REPRODUCTION METHOD

A BD-ROM reproduction device simultaneously executes reproduction of a title including an AV Clip and executes an application. The BD-ROM reproduction device includes a BD-J module (35) executing an application, a Playback Control Engine (32) for reproducing the AV Clip belonging to a title, and a module manager (34) controlling branching between a titles. The BD-J module (35) includes a Java virtual machine (38) and an application manager (36). The Java virtual machine (38) interprets an application, generates an instance, and executes the instance generated. When the instance is that a work memory (37) in the Java virtual machine (38) exists, the application manager (36) interprets that the title reproduction is continuing even if the application has terminated. When a reproduction end event is issued from the Playback Control Engine (32), the module manager (34) is made to select the next title even if the title reproduction has terminated. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
