A method for controlling starting performance of a vehicle equipped with an LPI engine is provided to enhance starting performance of the vehicle by selecting optimum stand-by time for starting in accordance with the level of evaporation of fuel. A method for controlling starting performance of a vehicle equipped with an LPI engine comprises a step(S110) of transmitting the parking time integrated by an internal clock to an LPI ECU through a CAN line, when a key switch is turned on and a timer operates; a step(S111) of permitting the ECU to start a timer and turn on a lamp; a step(S112) of permitting the ECU to start a timer and drives a fuel pump; a step(S113) of checking PCD start or PCD re-start condition of an engine; a step(S114) of checking whether fuel pressure has reached a target value for PCD start or PCD re-start; a step(S115) of comparing a coolant temperature condition with a reference value; a step(S116) of checking engine operating time if the coolant temperature is higher than the reference value; a step(S117) of comparing the engine operating time with a reference value; a step(S118) of checking an LPI control timer and checking lamp-on time if the engine operating time is longer than the reference value; a step(S119) of turning off the lamp if the lamp-on time exceeds, and checking whether a target fuel pressure has reached if the lamp-on time does not exceed; a step(S120) of turning off the lamp if the lamp-on time exceeds; and a step(S121) of re-setting the timer by using the LPI control clock.
