PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of electrode and the structure of driving circuit by making to generate a discharge for display between the discharge surface of an X electrode and the discharge surfaces of separate discharge electrodes connected to a Y electrode, and making to generate a discharge radiation. CONSTITUTION:On the upper side of the first dielectric layer 4a, separate discharge electrodes 6, 6,..., whose discharge surfaces are parallel to a rear side plate 2, and which carry out display discharges with two discharge surfaces ot the X electrode responding to the neighboring two discharge cells S and S of each line of discharge cell groups S, S,..., are formed by a thick film printing of conductive paste. These separate discharge electrodes 6, 6,... are connected electrically to the responding Y electrode of the Y electrode group with connection conductors 7, 7,... which penetrate the window holes 5, 5,... of the first dielectric layer 4a, in respect to each line of the cell groups S, S,.... And the discharges for display are carried out between dis charge surfaces parallel to the rear side plate 2 of the Xn electrode, and the separate discharge electrodes 6, 6,... of the electrodes Ym, Ym+1,..., and the responding dis charge cells S, S,... generate the discharge radiations. Consequently, the electrode structure is made simple, and the structure of driving circuit can be simplified. |
