A method for operating a wireless web hard disk is provided to enable a user to transmit data or a file stored in the wireless web hard disk to a mobile terminal or a storage medium of a receiver by using the mobile terminal of the user. When the mobile terminal is connected, a server checks information of the data or the file stored in a storage area corresponding to the connected mobile terminal(205). The server provides the checked data or file information to the mobile terminal(215). If the mobile terminal selects the data or the file from the data or file information, the server determines whether a malicious code is included in the selected data or file. If the malicious code is not included, the server provides the selected data or file to the mobile terminal or the second mobile terminal. If the malicious code is included, the server provides the selected data or file to the mobile terminal or the second mobile terminal after removing the malicious code.
