PURPOSE: To achieve a long storage life and to prevent a dye from precipitating at a low temperature, by combining and containing dimethylammoninum sulfate and at least one type of a liquid crystal formation suppression agent as a stabilizer of a dye solution. CONSTITUTION: Dimethylammonium sulfate (0.2g) is dissolved into a mixture of methanol (97ml) and ethyleneglycol (3ml), the pH of the solution is adjusted to 7.9, May-Grunwalds eosin/methylene blue (made by MERCK) (0.12g) is added, and the mixture is agitated for three hours. Then, the solution is filtrated. When no ethylene glycol is contained, precipitation is already observed in two hours within a temperature range of 9 and -25 deg.C and the optical concentration (645nm/523nm) increases from 1.62 to 2.63 in eight weeks. However, in the above example, the optical concentration was constant, 1.62.
