A process for discharging gases from bottles, in which they are stored under press in a solvent distributed in a porous mass, comprises collecting the solvent contained in the gas after it leaves the bottles, operating under the pressure obtaining in the bottles, and expanding the gas freed from liq. solvent. The vol. of solvent sepd. is pref. determined after each phase of emptying. The fraction of solvent remaining in the gas during the sepn. under press. is sepd. after the expansion. The invention remedies inconveniences associated with existing methods of distribution of gas. These include the possibility of destruction of joints and membranes made of elastomers which may react with the solvent and be destroyed, and the risk to heath by contact of solvent with the person. In addn. the gas manufacturer cannot discover if and how much solvent has gone out of the system.
|
