<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect immediately the end part of a tape by equipping an optical tape-end detecting method provided with a light emitting part and photo detecting part on both the sides of the tape. CONSTITUTION:When operator PLAY is depressed with cassette 50 loaded in the accommodation part of a cassette tape recorder, tape 51 is run at a constant speed as shown by the arrow to set the play mode and irradiated light from light emitting part 28 never reaches photo detecting part 29 by being cut off by the magnetic surface of tape 51. When the end part of tape 51 comes in the play mode like this, the light from light emitting part 28 is detected by photo detecting part 29 via light transmitting leader parts provided to both ends of tape 51. Then, an operator releasing mechanism is driven by a detection signal from photo detecting part 29 to release the play operator, thereby stopping the tape automatically.</p> |
