PURPOSE:To eliminate those portions in which dielectric loss is reduced and conduct uniform vulcanization by a method wherein a formed article consisting of a composition containing a conductivity-imparting agent is high-frequency-heated at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A formed article (e.g., pipe, tube, tape) consisting of an organic polymeric composition made conductive by admixing of a conductivity-imparting agent such as carbon black, is heated and vulcanized by high-frequency waves of a frequency of about 10-3,000MHz at temperature above that temperature at which dielectric loss is minimized. EFFECT:The heating is substantially uniform because dielectric loss only increases with rising temperature. USE:Conductor shielding layer for power cables having an insulator layer of the solid type such as cross-linked polyethylene, and the like. |
