A vehicle network system for transmitting data by using a wavelength division multiplexing method and a data transmission method therein are provided to enable a master unit to communicate with each slave unit, thereby preventing a failure of an optical fiber path, connected to a specific slave unit, from influencing other slave unit. A vehicle network system for transmitting data by using a wavelength division multiplexing method comprises the followings: a master unit(200) which generates an optical signal to which a multimedia service is allocated according to each wavelength and transmits an optical signal having a wavelength corresponding to each of slave units after confirming each multimedia service provided to each slave unit; and the slave unit(202-210) which receives the optical signal, converts the received optical signal into an electrical signal and reproduces a transmission packet.
