The method involves estimating a gain ratio of sum path and angular deflection path for one fixed ground element from a set of fixed ground elements. A signal is obtained by subtraction of a signal received by the angular deflection path and a signal received by the sum path, where the signal received by the angular deflection path is multiplied by the gain ratio. A moving target e.g. assault tank, is detected using the obtained signal.
