PURPOSE:To miniaturize the camera by providing a plurality of photo detectors combined with lenses, receiving the reflected light of the light projected from the reference photo detector projector which is focused to infinity to the subject and comparing the outputs thereof with the output of the reference photo detector thereby performing distance determination. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 11 using an infrared ray emitting diode or the like is made to parallel beams by a lens 12 and the beams are projected to the subject. The reflected light from the subject is received in the reference photo detector SR provided in the focus of the beams from the infinite of the lens 14', the photo detector existing in the position where the light from near distance is focused by a lens 14, the photo detector SF existing in the focus position for the light of remote distance and the photo detector SC corresponding to an intermediate distance. The outputs of these photo detectors and the output of the reference photo detector SR are compared of magnitudes by way of an electric processing circuit 17, by which the distance of the subject is determined. Thereby, the automatic focusing camera may be miniaturized. |
