PURPOSE:To prevent an abnormal temperature rise in the rapid rotation of an engine, by nullifying a function of advancing the ignition time of the engine from a late ignition position toward an early ignition position where knocking takes place, when the rotational frequency of the engine exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device comprises a knocking detection unit A which generates an output corresponding to the knocking of an engine, and an ignition time controlling unit B for delaying the ignition time of the engine from the reference time depending on the output of the knocking detection unit A. A rotational frequency detection circuit A14 controls the action of a rapid running time voltage controlling circuit A15 to substantially nullify an ignition advancing function when the rotational frequency of the engine exceeds the prescribed value. |
