<p>The arrangement is intended for assembling a bicycle frame, partic. a light-metal frame for racing or sporting bicycles. The frame members, such as the tubular steering column (1), lower bearing seat collar (3, 4), fork head (5) and tubular fork members (6), are releasably connected mechanically e.g. by screws (8, 10 engaging reinforcing inserts (2, 7) in the tube (1, 6) ends and/or bushes around these ends. The connection does not affect the rigidity and mechanical strength of the components and the connection between the inserts and the tubes is improved by roughening or knurling the outside of the inserts.</p> |
