Metal piece appropriate for use as an insert in an object, particularly a panel comprised entirely of fiber material, characterised in that it comprises a plate substantially plane surrounded at its periphery by plane teeth orientated outwardly and inclined with respect to said plate, the height of the teeth perpendicularly to said plate being bigger than the thickness of said panel. Manufacturing process comprising the placing of the metal piece and the fiber material panel between the platens of a press, the teeth being then bent down and hooking into the fibers of the panel by operation of the press.
