The self locking stop may be used on double gates or similar, being fixed to the ground, adjusting to suit gate thickness, and adapting to right or left hand situations. An 'L' section stop (2) is attached to a base (Ba) of an 'H' section with foot flanges, the bar (1,4) of the 'L' sliding (AorB) into the portal to be secured by a screw (15) and in a position dictated by gate thickness. A triple loop spring steel rod latch (R) spans horizontally offset holes (8,9) in the base leg (5) upstands, having unequal parallel ends (10,11) entering leg holes (8,9). The shorter end (8) runs into a perpendicular length (12,13) of an 'S' shape in plan, the remaining length (14) being 'V' shaped in elevation. The latch mechanism operates whereby the latter of the two gates secured is located between the stop (2) and the 'V' shaped rod length (14).
|
