PURPOSE:To manufacture the heavy metal capturing agent of U, etc. with a good efficiency having a small loss during use, by reacting polymer having chloromethyl radical on side chain and a specific large cyclic hexaketones with base under the existence of solvent. CONSTITUTION:Hydrogen chloride removing reaction of polymer having chloromethyl radical on side chain (for example, chloromethylated polystyrene) and a large cyclic hexaketones shown by the formula [where, A1-3; each -(R1CR2)-, n; 1-10, R1.R2; H or alkyl radical], is carried out in the solvent, such as dimethylformamide, etc., under the existence of base. This product is excellent in capturing ability of heavy metal ion, such as Cu or Ni ion, etc., and especially, UO2<2+> exsisting in the form of carbonate complex salt, is separated from CO3<2-> and is captured. Accordingly, the above product is used for scavenging of U from seawater, waste water treatment of metal refining, etc. |
