<p>In the machine, the base of the last points upwards as the last (1) is held on the socket holder (2). At the beginning of the adhesive application the two adhesive nozzles (31) are at a point and press the welt (30) firmly on the last. The nozzles (31) then move along the last edge towards the shoe toe. When they reach a point the shearing-in fingers used for the arch area are introduced and are controlled so that they carry out the shearing movement individually or in groups one after the other. When the adhesive nozzles have reached a point they are removed and the shearing fingers move in. The welt can thus no longer be sprung back into a position (30') because it is pressed by the fingers on to the last. The thermoplastic adhesive need not be applied extremely hot since it is used for sticking immediately after its application.</p> |
