The connector system allows a stripped conductor end to be inserted directly into the connector, which is itself fitted over a pin contact rail, with a stamped one piece contact spring (10) gripping the conductor end and fitting over the contact pin. The spring (10) is U-shaped with the ends of the arms (12) bent inwards and angled towards one another, so as to grip the stripped conductor end, their extreme ends (54) bent backwards so as to penetrate the inserted conductor and pref being forked. The base of the spring (10) has a U-shaped slot, the sides of which extend partway along the length of each arm (12), with the contact pin fitting into this slot.
