The clamping bush comprises a rolled sheet-metal sleeve with a lengthwise slot. The slot (1) is of V-section, and its pointed edges (2) are designed to distort when the bush is compressed. The printed edges can be on the inside of the bush or the outside, or they may be situated halfway between the inside and the outside. The design affords a simple system for increasing the force with which the bush is clamped in place.
