The belt conveyor comprises a framework which releasably carries sets of belt supporting rollers (2) and a mechanism for replacing them. The framework has two parallel longitudinal beams connected by cross-members and longitudinal rails (6) for a carriage with cable winches (13a, b). The rails are integral with, or secured to, the upper sides of the beams and have a pointed ridge (23) for the wheels (12) of the carriage. The A-shaped carriage frame (10, 11) is supported on three wheels (12), two of which are arranged at the lower ends of upwardly inclined frame members and the other on a member pivoted (14) to the members (10) at the top.
