PURPOSE:To prevent the discoloration of aloin and to improve the storage stability of an aloe extract containing aloin effective to whiten the skin, by adding a specific acid and dibutylhydroxytoluene to the extract. CONSTITUTION:Aloe juice or extract containing aloin, or isolated aloin, is mixed with dibutylhydroxytoluene (BHT) and one or more compound selected from citric acid, malonic acid, maleic acid, pyruvic acid and phosphoric acid. The amount of BHT is 0.001-0.5wt% based on the whole composition, and the weight ratio of the acid to BHT is 0.1-10, pref. 1-2. The synergistic effect of the acid and BHT prevents the discoloration of aloin at high temperature and with direct sun light irradiation. The composition thus prepared can be used in various fields such as cosmetics. |
