<p>PURPOSE:To improve the recordability, discharge stability, discharge response, prolonged recordability, etc., of a recording liquid used in an ink jet recording method by adding a specific dye compound with naphthyl group to the said recording liquid. CONSTITUTION:To a recording liquid which is discharged and jetted in droplets from the discharge orifice of a recording head, 0.1-15wt% compound of the formula I (wherein naphthyl group contains at least hydroxyl group and sodium sulfonate group and phi is an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group) is added on the basis of the whole amount of the said recording liquid. The compounds of the formula I include compounds of formulas II and III, belonging to alpha- and beta- substituted isomers. Specific example of compounds of the formula I include compounds of formulas IV and V.</p> |
