<p>Internal rotatable spindle extends from one end, through a guide tube, at the other end of which a hinged bearing head supports the chuck of an angle screwdrive. This forms a socket for the interchangeable blades fixed axially by stops pressed inwards by a ring of silicone rubber. Head can be fixed at the angle to which it is tilted on an axis at a definite vertical spacing from the axis of the internal spindle. The opposing ends of the internal spindle and of the journal of the chuck, are linked by a pair of fixed toothed wheels. These have, on the edges of their faces turned towards each other, a coaxial crown of axially extending teeth which intermesh with each other. Plane of the crown extends through the pivoting axis of the bearing head and the radius of the crown is equal to the pitch of the bearing head axis from the internal spindle axis. Axis of the blade can be fixed at any angle to the handle between 0 degree and almost 90 degrees and the tool can be manipulated easily and safely in difficult situations occurring in bone surgery.</p> |
