PURPOSE:A cooling liquid composition whose corrosiveness to cooling devices used in the food industry is conrolled by adding a small amount of potassium sorbate to propylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:A small amount (about 0.001-1.0pts.wt.) of potassium sorbate is added to 100pts.wt. of an aqueous propylene glycol solution. As the aqueous propylene glycol solution, an aqueous solution having a propylene glycol concentration of 20-60wt% is usually used. A still higher corrosive controlling effect is obtained by adding calcium glycerophosphate in combination with said potassium sorbate to a propylene glycol solution. When calcium glycerophosphate is used in combination, a small amount of the order of 0.01-1.0pt.wt. per 100pts. wt. of the aqueous propylene glycol solution is satisfactory. |
