PURPOSE:A skin cosmetic, capable of preventing the skin damage due to cosmetics, e.g. base and perfumes, and comprising highly safe tar containing no carcinogen, which is purified by vacuum distillation and/or acylation. CONSTITUTION:Mineral, animal, or vegetable tar is distilled in vacuo and/or acylated to give a purified tar containing no carcinogen and mutagen with little color and odor. The resulting tar is incorporated into a cream, emulsion, or lotion in an amount of 1-7wt%, preferably 2-5wt%, to form a skin cosmetic capable of preventing the skin damage, e.g. rash, suppuration, and eczema, by cosmetics. |
