PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive electrode by providing a conductive base body and a redox function layer which covers the conduction base body, has a redox function and has a catalytic effect on the oxidation reaction of hydrogen peroxide to decompose hydrogen peroxide in an aq. soln. CONSTITUTION:The carbon electrode is produced by inserting a circular cylinder 1 of carbon adhered 2 with a lead wire 3 into a 'Teflon(R)' tube 4 and packing an insulating adhesive agent 5 therein. A P,P'-bisphenol polymer layer 6 is formed as the redox function layer by using a 3-electrode cell consisting of the carbon electrode formed in such a manner as a working electrode, SSCE as a reference electrode and a platinum net as a counter electrode, by which an H2O2 electrode is produced. A DC voltage of >=+0.8 volt is impressed to the H2O2 electrode with the H2O2 electrode as the working electrode and silver, etc., as a counter electrode and the concn. of H2O2 is measured from the current value of this time.
