PURPOSE:To electrically discharge quickly and securely by using low rating parts, by discharging a final flash under recharge-prohibited state, and discharging the residual electric charge by lowering the voltage of discharge capapcitor. CONSTITUTION:When flashes are discharged by a specified number of times by means of charge start operation switch 16 and emission command signal generating circuit 8, a charge command signal generating circuit 18 issues a signal to drop the charge command signal before the final emission command, and controls a charge control circuit 15 to open a power switch 2, so that charging is prohibited. Later, when a final emission command signal is issued from the circuit 8, flash discharge is done, and the voltage in the capacitor 4 drops. As a result, the voltage in a capacitor voltage detector 12 becomes lower than the reference voltage, and a voltage comparator 20 issues a signal. As the charge command signal from gate circuit 19 is low level and the comparator 20 is outputting, a command signal is delivered to operate a residual electric charge in the capacitor 4. Since the capacitor 4 is prohibited of charging, the residual electric charge discharged by the circuit 9 is small, so that only low rating parts may be sufficient for the purpose. |
