PURPOSE:To provide a molded coil easily without using an expensive mold by employing an injection housing when forming a molded coil, accommodating a winding in the housing and filling resin in the gap therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A winding 17 is enclosed with a synthetic resin mold 1 to form a molded coil. The mold 1 is constructed as follows: That is, the mold 1 is formed of a cylindrical portion 1a, a columnar projection 1b located longitudinally is provided at part of the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 1a, terminal fittings 3, 4 are buried in the upper and lower surfaces of the projection 1b, and tap switching terminal fitting 5a-5e connected to the coil 17 buried therein and connector pieces 6 are provided therebetween. Further, a number of ribs 2 are longitudinally formed to increase the heat dissipating area on the outer periphery thereof. In order to obtain the molded coil the winding 17 is first filled in an injection housing 10 having a tin plate inside wall 16 of the shape corresponding to the profile of the mold, resin is then filled in the gaps therebetween, and molded. |
