PURPOSE:To obtain superior carrier generating performance by forming on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer containing a specified bisazo compound. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate the photosensitive layer containing at least one of the bisazo compounds represented by formula I in which X is H, cyano, or halogen; R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoroalkyl, or cyano; R2 is H, halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy; Cp is a group of formula II; Z is a group of formula III; and A is a divalent group derived from an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or hetero ring, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and durability and small in residual potential. |
