The post driver is mounted on tractor (1) and has a lever arm (7) rocking about the pivot (3) formed by a Z section mounting which is fixed to the tractor by bolts (4,5). The height of the pivot can be altered by a pinion (6) in holes (3e) in the pivot arm and the back telescopic strut (8) is altered to suit post length by changing the position of the pinion (10). To sink a post, hydraulic arms (2e) are retracted lifting rear frame (2) and the back of the lever arm (7b) forcing the front of the lever arm (7d) down, the force being sufficient to work well even on stony ground.
