Controlled release of ergo-toxin methane sulphonate - from micro-granules coated with anionic and cationic methacrylic! polymers and a plasticiser

Microgranules for oral administration to man or animals liberate dihydroergotoxin methane sulphonate (I) in a controlled manner, independently of the pH. R1 is benzyl (I is ergocristine), or -CH2CHMe2 (I is ergokryptine) or -CHMe2 (I is ergocornine). The microgranules contain a spherical support of inactive material, (I) fixed on the support, and a coating which is a mixture containing two polymers of methacrylic acid, one cationic and one anionic, and a plasticiser. Used for treatment of cerebral circulatory insufficiency, cerebral vascular disorders, arterial hypertension due to age, and peripheral veinous and arteriolo-capillary disorders.
