The connector electrode both penetrates the insulation of a single wire and mechanically secures the insulation surface. The electrode is suitable for general electrical and telecommunications applications and esp. for automatic switches. The electrode consists of a single folded and punched metal strip which has a short rectangular U-shaped section at one end, one wall of which is continued as a corrugated wall terminated in a solder point (2). The contacting or gripping surfaces can take a variety of forms but consist basically of two leaves (15,16) pressed inwards from the walls of the U-section (5) which prevent wire displacement due to traction. Contacting surfaces are slots (3,4) cut in the wall bent across the path of the wire. The slot mouth is tapered (6) to facilitate wire insertion.
|
