The calender mechanisms for electronic and mechanical time pieces generally. The mechanism provides an instantaneous action without causing a large energy drain and without causing any loss in time accuracy as a result of manual correction. The mechanism is based on the modification of the day of the month ring-action with a forked lever (13,14) and the day of the week disc with the accumulator at the same time increasing the reliability of the locking of the day of the month and day of the week mechanisms. The accumulator engages with the weekday disc via a seven position Maltese Cross (11). The cross perimeter consists of alternate scallops and indents the latter allowing it to be driven by a pin (10) on the accumulator disc and the former releasing the month day ring (8) through the lever.
