<p>Sausage filler has a piston with a vent valve. On the lower surface of the piston a cavity is formed into which is fitted the element of the valve. The element has a stem which is free to move up and down over a limited distance, having an O ring and a flexible cover. The stem passes through a hole in the piston and terminates with a shank of larger dia. This shank seals the opening when the element is down and allows the piston to suck back sausage mixture left in the outlet pipe. When descending, the valve allows air to pass but once in contact with sausage mixture the flexible cover pushes the element up into the cavity and the "O" ring seals it. Used for manufacture of sausages esp frying sausages. Allows material left in the discharge line to be drawn back into the cylinder, giving tight seal and needing infrequent cleaning.</p> |
